BRIGHTON COLLECTIBLES PARTNERS WITH THE MINNIE PEARL CANCER FOUNDATION

Green Hills Retailer To Donate Special Promotion Proceeds For Breast Cancer Awareness And Research
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (September 18, 2007) – Brighton, a name synonymous with high quality fashion accessories and home collections, is also committed to raising money for breast cancer awareness. On Saturday, September 29th, a special partnership with The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation will begin with an 8:30 a.m. kickoff breakfast to mark a promotion that will run through the end of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Adele Dorris, director of development and outreach at The Foundation, will serve as the special guest speaker.

Beginning in 2003, Brighton Collectibles commissioned its first annual bracelet to give hope and encouragement to those committed to fighting and eradicating breast cancer. This year, an entire jewelry collection will be available consisting of a necklace, bracelet and earrings, and can be purchased together or separately. Brighton will contribute proceeds to The Foundation for each piece of jewelry sold. Consisting of over 120 stores, Brighton has contributed nearly $2 million to breast cancer awareness, with independent retailers donating over $1 million to the cause as well.

“It is through the assistance of concerned individuals and companies like Brighton that our organization is able to spread hope to cancer patients, their families and friends through research, support and educational programs and services,” said Patrick Clemens.

Proceeds will assist The Foundation in numerous ways including the operation of its Patient Resource Center, which offers services free of charge to all cancer patients and their families. Its library houses an updated selection of educational and inspirational books, magazines, pamphlets, and audiovisual materials as well as computers to access bookmarked Internet cancer sites for research on up-to-date cancer information. On-site oncology social workers assist patients daily with emotional and practical issues such as finances, lodging, and transportation, and an in-house registered dietitian is available to consult with patients at any stage of cancer survivorship to develop personalized nutrition plans.

Brighton Collectibles is located in Nashville’s Green Hills Mall at 2126 Abbott-Martin Road # 264, and can be contacted at (615) 292-2262. For more information, please contact The Foundation at (615) 467-1936.
