Read MoreCountering the consuming effects of a cancer diagnosis with hope is the hallmark of our Foundation. We are committed to fulfilling the legacy of compassion from our beloved namesake, Minnie Pearl, by offering guidance and support to adult cancer patients and their families and friends as they deal with the overwhelming diagnosis of cancer.
Our Cancer Resource Center is open and free of charge to patients and families, regardless of treating oncologist or facility. Our on-site cancer supportive services team, including oncology social workers and a registered dietitian, assist patients daily with emotional and practical issues such as finances, lodging and transportation, and nutrition. Continually seeking ways to address the unmet needs of the cancer patient, we offer visitors from Middle Tennessee and across the country a haven in which they can openly share their concerns about their diagnosis and their hopes for the future.
Sarah Cannon, the legendary comedienne who created the charming Grand Ole Opry character Minnie Pearl and who was a compassionate cancer survivor herself, knew firsthand the priceless value of positive support in healing from a cancer diagnosis. The MPCF is charged with helping cancer patients move through cancer diagnoses and treatment with Minnie Pearl’s characteristic human touch.
